Just past Multnomah Falls, this adventure has what most hikers are looking for: waterfalls, old-growth forest, big vistas and even a little scrambling at Oneonta Gorge. In terms of waterfalls, you are really getting a four-for-one deal on this hike, as Horsetail Falls is just the beginning. The other three remarkable falls are Ponytail Falls, Oneonta Bridge Falls (or Middle Falls) and Triple Falls. If you head into the Oneonta Gorge, you can also add Lower Oneonta Falls to the list. Regardless of how you count them, this hike wonat disappoint! If you are on the trail in late spring or early summer, be sure to look for the crisp, articulated red columbine flower and the delicate pacific starflower.
