Description
In 1905, prospectors Shorty Harris and Pete Aguereberry discovered gold at Providence Ridge. Aguereberry worked the claim for 40 years until his death in 1945. The ruins of his shelter (Aguereberry Camp) still stand today, and they emit an eerie feeling when explored. From the camp you can walk around the base of the ridge to the Eureka Mine and explore the ruins of Cashier Mill. The entire ridge is filled with mine shafts that you can find and peer into with a strong light. If you have the time, climb to the top of the ridge for an amazing 360-degree view of the deserted landscape.
