Description
This trail offers connectivity to various trails between Amphitheater Trail at the north end of the park and Bluebell Road at the south end. From the Amphitheater Trail, this trail climbs steeply to an intersection with Ski Jump Trail. From that junction, the grade mellows noticeably. About half a mile in, you'll come to a four-way intersection with Chautauqua Trail and the Flatirons Loop Trail. From here, the trail descends gradually through the forest to a junction with Bluebell Mesa and Bluebell Road shortly thereafter. The majority of this trail is shaded, making it a good mid-summer choice. Historical note: this trail was named after Dr. William Baird who donated much of the land surrounding this trail to the City of Boulder in 1908.
