Waters Creek Loop Trail

Waters Creek Interpretive trail is a forested hike suitable for any season. About 20 minutes from Grants Pass, it is a good stopover on the way to the coast. After passing a culvert and pool, hikers will come across a large meadow with seasonal wildflowers. The trail has a 1 mile accessible loop, and a longer, 3 mile loop that is not accessible. The elevation gain is mild, so this is a beginner-friendly hike.The trail is wide and crosses the creek several times. There are benches along many points in the trail, and the trail is cool in summer- perfect for a picnic. You can hear the creek for much of the hike, and while you can expect to cross paths with a couple other hikers, the trail is not crowded. There is a pit toilet that was in fair condition. The road to the site has a couple of areas that are one-lane, so be prepared to take it slow on the windy road. There are remnants of interpretive signs that are no longer readable due to weathering and vandalism.
