Devil of a Drop

This is an excellent hike in either direction if you can get a shuttle ride up to Seven Devils. The journey starts on South Boise Trail #101A and skirts the Hells Canyon Wilderness to Frank Wurl Trail #61. The first portion includes a quick descent, followed by a few miles of more mellow terrain. After about 3.7 miles, the Frank Wurl Trail #61 drops off down a ridge to Wurl Cabin and Crea Cabin. This is a steeper descent, making for blistered feet if your shoes are not tied properly or if they haven't been properly broken in. Before long, you'll be hitting the West Fork Rapid River Trail #113, which you'll follow for quite a ways to the parking lot and restrooms located just up the road from the Rapid River Fish Hatchery.
