Homestead Trail to Palm Desert Cross

Park along the fence of the unpaved road. Hike across the flat area to begin ascent up jeep suitable track to a lookout called Engstrom with shaded picnic table and water. From here the trail narrows with some light scrambling before the path is more visible up to the cross. Navigation to the cross is straightforward, it is visible above you. Turn around at the cross and descend via same route. We saw several trail runners and one mountain biker on the day.
