Batiquitos Lagoon Trail

This is a well-maintained trail that makes for a nice, quick out and back. The trail is often frequented by local day hikers. The surface is smooth, flat, hard packed dirt. Mileage provided is for a round-trip out and back hike. More information on the area can be found by clicking here.Trailhead: In Carlsbad, exit the I-5 on Poinsettia and head east for 0.3 miles. Take the second right onto Batiquitos Dr. In 0.5 miles, take then the first right onto Gabbiano Ln. and follow for 0.3 miles until it dead ends at the parking area. OR stay on Batiquitos and keep your eyes open for the other parking sites on the right-hand side. These parking areas are easy to miss, but are generally more open than then main trailhead.
